5 HRS AGO - Der_Echte wrote:What if they figured out how to add a red laser dust trail that lingers for 1/4 second to the ball on the screen like they do in NHL Hockey with the puck?Being a former hockey player & not knowing much about ice-hockey, I am not sure what the reason for that is, though it would be cool if they displayed the speed in penalty-corner & penalty-stroke conversions in hockey. But I am also curious how the trail would help in table-tennis. If it would, then great but I think the (non-)table-tennis spectator not understanding the amount of spin (then speed) is the bigger problem in table-tennis since it is all nothing but just a smash for a non-table-tennis savvy spectator. (So the trail would essentially be just another (spineless.....oops I meant spinless......a Freudian tongue of the slip) smash in table-tennis though the primary element of table-tennis is spin)Statistics: Posted by Hubeer — 26 Jan 2021, 02:58 Collapse

2 HRS AGO - I tried Pluto right after the beginning of my career almost 6 years ago to become less sensitive to incoming spin on BH. But I discovered LP ox only a short time later and stayed with LP ever since. Unfortunately I destroyed the sponge when removing Pluto from the blade but I do remember that it was extremely heavy. Two years ago I bought Pluto again for use on the FH, this time ox to glue my own sponges underneath to save weight. I found Pluto on FH great for counter-hitting incoming spin. One day an opponent made a picture of my bat after loosing although having a much higher ranking. Well, he did not stop looping. I still have the rubber today: there is no number in a square on it but it has the ittf-sign. The pips are really very hard, almost like plastic but I am pretty sure it is legal because I bought it from a well known and reliable shop. I also never heard of the guy with the photo again. Unfortunately most other players adopted quickly and played slow, low, spinless balls. Collapse

7 HRS AGO - Author: stilttSubject: Very Good Day - Not TT relatedPosted: 01/25/2021 at 4:02pmI totally relate to that, I swan with hundreds of dolphins once in 1994, in the middle of Gabon and Sao Tome (24 hours ride at about 10 knots average) on a friend's 40 foot sailboat. When we saw them, my friend stopped the boat, dropped a knotted cord in the back and asked me to get in the water letting myself pulled by the cord (1 or 2 knots max speed) with a scuba mask. It remains one of the best memory of my life. The water was so clear I thought I was flying. I saw a mom with her tiny baby and they were doing the exact same moves, in sync and so quick! left, right, up down!!!! they were all coming from everywhere, curious and naturally smiling, what a feast!Congrats to you! it really is a blessing. 4 HRS AGO - I used to like Hallmark Combination effect.I am sure Dr. Neubauer & few others make a few two speed blades Kris (2 speed) is a great blade. They made Kris Two speed carbon also (with carbon on one side only). But they made like only 50 of them it seems and stopped. My all time favorite is a modified Giant Dragon Super Balsa 2. I am pretty sure Kris is a medium size head. GD SuperBalsa 2 is large head offensive but not a two speed blade. I had a friend of mine modify this with adding a layer of of carbon (and a stiff layer of wood on top of that) but on one side only. This was my favorite blade but was stolen. Looks like GD is totally out of business and even if not , they don't have a SuperBalsa 2 available. I had many blades designed similar to this design but not as good as GD SB2The difficulty with this two speed design (for a combination chopper blade) is isolating the stiffening effect of carbon (or composite) from seeping into the non-carbon side. Looks like a thick layer Collapse

So I would imagine they don't measure a benefit to a koto outer layer. From these blades only the Ovtcharov seems to bring something "new", with slightly thicker blade.DHS did it with the newer "X" series, and I think even the Harimoto ALC is a thicker than standard Inner ALC. I suppose Ovtcharov has more raw power compared to Harimoto hence the need for stiffer blade. Collapse
